Description

Host Boxed Maquette has been conceived as a working model for the large scale work 'Host'. The transportation box [ which is intended to be part of the work ] can be opened and the figures arranged in response to any horizontal surface, in much the same way as the artist would try out arrangements in the landscape with full size dummy boards. The forty figures are cast in bronze with a two-part sand mould and the resulting flash on the seam line which is usually removed by fettling left in place to both demonstrate the method of casting and to approximate to the pressed metal flange on the full scale work.
