Description

Sheets of laminated glass that form a solid mass are set between two blocks of Portland Stone, creating a simple column. The glass is sandblasted, rendering the surface undulating, like weathered rock in the desert. The contrast between the blasted glass thus and the gentle carving that gives texture to the stone combine in a composition that is partly translucent, slightly transparent and, in places, entirely opaque.
