Description

Barry Mason's maquette for a monolith shows how a solid and highly polished globe, placed centrally in the composition can radiate light. This radiant form is described by arcs of pinpoint holes that allow light to pass through the bronze sheet. The swirling rhythms Mason has set up show the central motif as a planet or sun scattering light in space, or a moon surrounded by stars.
