Martin and Dowling

Description

The first version of this form was carved in Lime wood. The rippling surface, reminiscent of water, tidemarks left in sand or the effect of wind-erosion on rock is achieved by precise chiselling. The contrast between the simple, totemic outline of 'Tablet' and the energy the artists have created in the surface provides a strong visual counterpoint. The blue-green patina underpins a watery theme.
