Peter Logan
Turning Stone, Touch Stone
1994
Description
Six rods balance and articulate randomly above a rotating stone. These arms are held aloft by a 'cone' of rods, under which is placed a further, but static, stone. The contrast between the still touch stone and the turning stone is emphasised when the work is set in motion by the touch of a fingertip. Peter Logan is known for his large scale kinetic sculptures which are technically perfect - this is no exception.
