Description

This is a bronze maquette for a monumental sculpture that Cox proposes should be made in stone. The smooth and highly polished form of a discus sits against a contrasting plinth of thick, rough tiles. The widely differing surfaces that can be found, both in bronze and in stone, according to the treatment given by the artist, is clearly defined in this minimalist work.
