Description

The form of this bird-goddess is similar in most respects to both its plaster and monumental versions. However, the monumental sculpture has gold leaf within the circular depressions, proving a glowing, regal surface, indicating that this is a very important deity. For the last two or three years Buck has simplified this sculpture, concentrating on single, iconic figures that are partly gods, partly human and partly animal. This piece is typical of his current genre.
