Description

'Head with Relief Figures' is Glenys Barton's largest head sculpture to date, and the first large piece to be cast in bronze. The head is split vertically down the centre, providing two profiles. The inner surface carries small figures in relief. Through the contrast between this lively interior and the smooth serenity of the outer form Barton has given the sculpture layers of meaning and many possibilities for interpretation.
