Description

Cast Glances is from a series of Cragg's work preoccupied with the distortion of the human face. Almost manipulated beyond recognition, the piece comprises elliptical 'slices' arranged on top of one another. The resulting effect is both topographical and kinetic, as if the piece is spinning at speed. This belies the size and weight of the piece, imbuing it with a lightness and rapidity, characteristic of much of Cragg's recent work.
