Description

This work evolved from a working cast iron mould and became the basis for the larger scale version titled JANUS HEAD. The column [ a downwards projection of the mould profile ] serves to both elevate the mould forms and also connects it to the tradition of marking a boundary in the ancient Roman tradition with a Herm, a stone column topped by a head, quite often a depiction of Janus.
