The Cass Sculpture Foundation welcomes its largest-ever sculpture - Gerry Judah's Alfa. Gifted to the Foundation by Gerry Judah and Alfa Romeo, the original structure of Alfa, commissioned by the Goodwood Estate, has been reworked as the Cass Sculpture Foundation's most monumental sculpture to date.
A set-designer for film and theatre as well as a sculptor of monumental works, Judah has created a bright orange structure sweeping 18 metres up through the woodland, constructed from 180 metres of steel tubing divided into 36 parts - all carefully designed to be assembled on site.
Alfa's vibrant orange tones and simple form produce a dynamic and elegant sculpture and one of Gerry Judah's most important works to date.
