Tony Hawks and his luxurious BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo were recently welcomed into the park for the final leg of Tony's modern-day Grand Tour in association with the Telegraph and BMW.
Given a brief by the Telegraph, 'to discover unique European experiences as innovative as the car we've given him to drive', the Cass Sculpture Foundation was delighted to be included on Tony's impressive itinerary, which saw visits to Berlin's prestigious Art Gallery Hotel, The Chocolate Line in Bruges, Copenhagen's Royal Café and the Santambrogio in Milan. The Foundation's groundbreaking sculpture made a fitting match for the dynamism and elegance of BMW's new Series 5 Gran Turismo.
Wilfred Cass accompanied Tony Hawks, TV and radio comedian and bestselling author, for a stroll around the park. The video showcases a short interview with Wilfred Cass, footage of Sean Henry's Walking Woman, Steven Gregory's One of Us on a Tricycle, and catches a glimpse of Tony's rather comical encounter with Lynn Chadwick's Ace of Diamonds.
In his write-up, Tony commends the innovation and forward-looking enthusiasm Wilfred and Jeannette Cass bring to the Foundation on a daily basis. In particular, Tony focuses on the achievements of the Foundation's Lending programme. BMW were one of the first company's to take up the opportunity to rent a sculpture from the Foundation. Other establishments to follow suit include Wembley Stadium, Goodwood Racecourse and more recently the Royal Academy, London.
Details of a competition to win a 2 night stay at Goodwood which includes train travel, hotel accommodation, £500 spending money, free entry to the Foundation and the option of a BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo to explore in, can be found here
