Bryan Kneale's Triton III at the Royal Academy of Arts, London

The Cass Sculpture Foundation is delighted to announce that its largest work, Triton III (2008) by Bryan Kneale, will be on display in the Royal Academy of Arts' Annenberg Courtyard from May 18th 2009 to mid-July as part of its annual Summer Exhibition, the largest open submission exhibition in the world, consisting of approximately 1200 works this year, most of which are for sale.

"I am absolutely thrilled to see Triton III in the Royal Academy's courtyard. It works so well at both Goodwood and the RA; it's like it has two lives, two very different personalities. At Goodwood the piece statically and serenely reflects it's woodland surroundings, whereas at the RA its curvaceous shapes dance around the immovable Palladian architecture of the courtyard." Bryan Kneale, 2009

Kneale, a Royal Academician, follows in the footsteps of fellow eminent artists who have exhibited in the RA's courtyard, including The Chapman Brothers, Anselm Kiefer, Damien Hirst and Sir Anthony Caro.

The loan of Triton III highlights the success of the Foundation's new Lending Programme which was developed to give lessees freedom and flexibility from the commitment of commissioning monumental sculpture or buying it outright.

The RA's selection of Triton III is a celebration of Bryan Kneale's extensive career and his invaluable contribution to British art and sculpture.
