10 July 2008: A New Space for Sculpture

Bryan Kneale's Triton III in it's new position in-front of the Visitor Gallery

"I think we'll get rid of some of those trees," said Wilfred Cass, two weeks later the entrance to the Cass Sculpture Foundation is transformed. Two brand new monumental grassed spaces welcome our visitors as they drive into our land of sculpture.

Each space effortlessly accommodates two of our large-scale works, Bryan Kneale's Triton III and Steve Dilworth's Claw. This development has not only enabled the positioning of larger works to adorn the entrance, but also enhances the view of our award winning Visitor's Gallery, designed by Studio Downie.

The larger of the two spaces measures fifteen by eight metres and is a perfect location for the constant influx of monumental sculptures to best be displayed as they arrive. No matter what the weather - its still a great day out!
