Love for British sculpture lies at the heart of Sculpture at Goodwood. Since 1994 Sculpture at Goodwood has collected drawings and models by sculptors whose works have been specially commissioned and displayed in the grounds. The scale, diversity and breadth of vision expressed in the drawings has given the collection an incredible vitality.
Extracts from sketchbooks, technical specifications, full visualisations of how sculptures might be, diagrammatic interpretations, detailed segments, visions of how sculptures may look in this or that location and reflections on works already made: all approaches to making drawings are reflected in the collection, Charcoal, chalk, pencil, crayon, pastel, watercolour, collage, print and combinations of more than one medium - the range of materials used for the drawings is as broad as the ideas they express.
