Veronique Maria

Veronique Maria was born in London, England, in 1959. She gained a first degree from Brighton, ( BA(hons) wood, metal, ceramics, plastics,) and a Masters degree from Middlesex, (Applied Psychosynthesis / Professional Fine Art Practice). She currently lives and works in West Sussex and London.

'I am interested in the repeating processes of life, death and birth, and in how we manage existential tension. More specifically, my work is about will, and it's ever changing condition. Like fire; it can rise up from the substance, generating heat and expansion, or return back to the substance, remaining latent and concealed. It seems to me that with every breath and in each moment, we make conscious and unconscious choices in response to our will.'

Veronique Maria 2005
