Alison Wilding

Wilding was born in Blackburn, Lancashire in 1948. She studied at Ravensbourne College of Art from 1967-70 and subsequently studied sculpture at the Royal College of Art from 1970-73. Wilding's early works consisted of multi-media installations. In 1978, she began to produce sculptures concerned purely with physicality and materiality. Wilding has an interest in the sensual and textural properties of materials and their location is space in light.
